Tulsa Opera continues its interactive touring productions each winter and spring. Students within your school will participate as “the chorus” in our productions led by professional opera singers when the touring production visits your school.
Your students will enjoy singing classic music and performing with professional opera singers. Curriculum materials and a teaching CD for your school’s “chorus members” are provided by the Tulsa Opera Education Department to assist in preparing your students for the in-school performance in your school. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity!
Performance Information:
Adult performers: |
4-6 professional opera singers and pianist provided by Tulsa Opera |
Student performers: |
15 students from your school (both girls and boys please!) |
Performance length: |
An hour-long residency “rehearsal” with the students and professionals, followed by a 45-minute performance and a 15-minute Q&A session |
Audience size: |
Your entire school |
Targeted age: |
Elementary grades through High School grades |
School Requirements:
Venue: |
Schools must have an auditorium or cafetorium large enough for the desired number of students to attend the performance. While a physical “stage” is not imperative, the tour does require ample space for the touring set. |
Piano: |
One fully working, tuned acoustic (not electric) grand or upright piano (THIS IS A MUST!!!) |

Tour performances can be scheduled from January to April each year. |

$200 honorarium per residency |
Registration: |
Registration for performance/s needs to be received at least three weeks before desired performance dates. Performance requests should arrive prior to the annual winter break for best availability. |

Tulsa Opera brings alive each spring for children in grades 4-12. This performance provides students the opportunity to witness a fully-produced opera production including a full orchestra and chorus with an audience of their peers. Seating assignments are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will be mailed only when payment or purchase order is received. In the event registrations exceed house capacity, 2350 seats, a waiting list will be formed in the event of cancellations. This performance is available for public, private and home school groups.
